Wolfes Neighborhood
You can vault time zones by standing in the indicated footsteps, large enough for Thomas Wolfe's large shoes. The bronze three-dimensional renderings by Susan Higgins and Kate Cohn allow you to "see through" to today's neighborhood across the street with the eclectic neighborhood of Wolfe's boyhood portrayed in the foreground ~ a mishmash of public and private buildings, including a school, a synagogue and a hospital. (Renderings conceptualized and designed by Tucker Cooke of UNCA.)
