Small town wonders

Visit Black Mountain, NC

Black Mountain, voted "America's Prettiest Small Town" by TripAdvisor, serves as the front porch to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Just 20 minutes from Asheville, Black Mountain boasts a lively downtown packed with galleries and cozy bistros, offering a charming and walkable  experience. Named for the mountain range that towers over the town, Black Mountain was once home to the artistically experimental Black Mountain College, a haven for pioneers in the world of art, painting, music, poetry and architectural design during the mid-twentieth century.

Downtown Black Mountain's infrastructure remained largely untouched by Hurricane Helene, allowing many shops and restaurants to reopen.
