Upper RAD Reopens with Resilience

The River Arts District was one of the areas most impacted by Hurricane Helene. While many areas have a long road ahead, a hope-filled and robust collection of art studios, galleries, cafes, shops and businesses in the Upper RAD—which includes all of Roberts Street, Artful Way, Depot Street, and Clingman Avenue—have reopened and are welcoming visitors. The district marked its soft reopening with a two-day celebration of perseverance on Nov. 9-10. Colorful gallery walls and studio spaces in the North RAD are showcasing and selling the work of displaced artists. Planning is key. Check listings and the map below to support and shop.
