If you'll be here in the mountains for Christmas or New Year's, you may be asking, "What restaurants are open for Christmas or New Year's in Asheville?"
We have worked with the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association and others to help answer that question for you with this list of local eateries that will be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in Asheville. There may be other restaurants open on these holidays. If you are looking for your favorite chain restaurant, many of those will be open as well.
Post Hurricane Helene, almost all of downtown Asheville is open and ready for business, its infrastructure having remained largely untouched by the storm. Downtown shops, restaurants, galleries, artist studios and restaurants are open—alongside our neighbors in the towns of Weaverville and Black Mountain.
There are areas that need more time and support. We are mindful that high impact areas—including parts of the River Arts District, Biltmore Village and Swannanoa—have a longer road ahead, so checking status online, calling ahead and making sure roads are open is advised before traveling to these areas. We are here for our neighbors throughout western North Carolina.
As with any holiday, we highly recommend calling the restaurant before finalizing your plans to check availability, menus and whether reservations are required. Click on the name of restaurant for contact information.
