    Built in the 1840s, the Smith-McDowell House was the home of one of North Carolina's first entrepreneurs, a Confederate major, and friends of the Vanderbilts. Today, the museum's rooms are showpieces reflecting different decades in history.

    • Types of Tours: Self-guided tour of the historic house and rotating exhibits. Allow one hour for group visit.
    • Group Policies: Discount available to groups of 10 or more. Parking available in the AB-Tech parking lot.
