Our mission: To bring arts to the people and people to the arts.
The Black Mountain Center for the Arts is a community non-profit arts facility, housed in the beautifully renovated former Black Mountain City Hall. Our facility is nearly 100 years old, and is also a wonderful site to visit as a historic landmark.
Our main floor host concerts, theatre performances, authors' readings and special events. Our upper hosts a wide array (subject and media) of exhibits per year, from contemporary and traditional paintings to sculpture, photography, and ceramics.
Classes and workshops offer everything from ballet and contemporary dance to painting and music lessons. Behind the main building, our clay studio offers a full range of classes for adults and occasional private lessons. Children's summer camps in the arts are offered each year in June, July or August. The Black Mountain Center for the Arts also presents an annual Auction for the Arts in the early spring, and Art in Bloom, a 3-day flower and art show, held in June.
There is something for everyone all year round - so you can be a pART of the ARTs!
