In Asheville, we take nature and our surrounding mountains seriously. From our lush forests and rushing waterfalls to the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway, nature is everywhere in the Asheville area. That's why, we are asking you to take a pause and consider how you can care for and support Asheville's wild places. 

As the first destination on the East Coast, Explore Asheville is excited to join a group of like-minded mountain towns across the country that are supporting responsible tourism through a grassroots campaign called Pledge for the Wild. Pledge for the Wild proactively shares sustainable outdoor principles while providing a chance to give back locally to non-profits that are making major strides to protect the area's public lands. Explore Asheville's first Pledge for the Wild beneficiary is the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is the primary fundraising partner, 501(c)(3), for the Blue Ridge Parkway, providing support for initiatives along the 469-mile route, including historical and cultural preservation, environmental protection, visitor amenities, and education and outreach.
